The Foundation for the Reading Public Museum embarked upon a two phase project to upgrade the Reading Public Museum.  The first phase included renovations to the building and its entire infrastructure.  The second phase involved the addition of a new entry structure.

Consolidated Engineers provided engineering services for the design of the new HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems.  The HVAC portion of the project included the design of a new chiller, dual fuel boilers, and an air handling system with humidity control and a digital temperature control to provide the stable environment necessary for the museum collection.  The flexible gallery lighting system uses both a wide beam light source to provide overall illumination and a narrow beam to add highlights.  State-of-the-art dimming controls in each gallery allow fine tuning of the lighting system for all types of art presentations.

The entry structure provides a new main entrance to the museum and houses the museum’s gift shop.
