The
Foundation for the Reading Public Museum
embarked upon a two
phase project to upgrade the Reading Public Museum. The first phase
included renovations to the building and its entire infrastructure. The
second phase involved the addition of a new entry structure.

|
Consolidated Engineers
provided engineering services for the design of the new HVAC, plumbing,
fire protection and electrical systems. The HVAC portion of the project
included the design of a new chiller, dual fuel boilers, and an air
handling system with humidity control and a digital temperature control
to provide the stable environment necessary for the museum collection.
The flexible gallery lighting system uses both a wide beam light source
to provide overall illumination and a narrow beam to add highlights.
State-of-the-art dimming controls in each gallery allow fine tuning of
the lighting system for all types of art presentations. |
|
The entry structure
provides a new main entrance to the museum and houses the museum’s gift
shop. |
