The Upper Moreland Elementary Center is both a newly constructed wing and renovation of an existing elementary school.  Students in grades three through five are housed in the new Intermediate School and the renovated Primary School houses kindergarten through grade two.  Common areas are shared by students in both schools.

Consolidated Engineers designed the HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems for this school.  The heating and cooling systems utilize air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, dual fuel boilers and roof-mounted variable air volume units with hydronic heating and cooling.  The electrical system includes a fire alarm, intercom and clock system, data network and a coaxial cable video distribution system.  Security is provided by infrared motion detectors, an access control system and video monitoring.  Lighting is managed throughout the building with a Lutron Micro-Watt System which utilizes day-light sensors and occupant sensors to control fluorescent dimming ballasts.
