Hi-Efficient water source heat pumps, gas fired condensing domestic water heaters, low flow plumbing fixtures, full sprinkler system, and occupancy sensing throughout the school.
The Wallingford Elementary School houses Kindergarten through 5th grade of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District is located off Moore Road in Langhorne, PA. The project included a 58,000 square foot addition to and an existing 11,000 square foot school.
The building’s heating and cooling system includes water source heat pumps utilizing gas fired condensing boilers and closed circuit cooling tower. The heat pump loop pumps and roof mounted heat pump unit fans all utilize variable frequency drives for increased energy efficiency.
The Plumbing system consists of all low flow fixtures and central gas fired hi-efficiency condensing domestic water heaters. The building is fully sprinklered, and includes a fire pump.
The lighting system consists of T8 florescent lighting with occupancy sensor override. Exterior lights are LED with relay and photocell control interconnected with the building automation system.
The low voltage systems consist of a fully wired data network, intercommunications system throughout the building, addressable fire alarm system, and closed circuit television recording system integrated with the access control and security system.
